Frequently Asked Questions

What is Star City Motor Madness?
Star City Motor Madness is a celebration of America’s passion for the automobile and the love of cruising. The event held the last Friday and Saturday in June draws from throughout the Mid-Atlantic and beyond. The event is a fundraiser for charity.

Where do the proceeds from the events go?
In 2010 proceeds went to The Virginia Museum of Transportation, The Commonwealth Coach & Trolley Museum and Center-in-the-Square all of which are based in Roanoke. A donation was also made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. The Virginia Museum of Transportation features a diverse collection of America’s transportation history with an impressive collection of railroad "rolling stock" including the famous Norfolk and Western #611 streamlined steam locomotive.
