Star City Motor Madness is a celebration of America’s passion for the automobile and the love of cruising. The event enters its 11th year in 2012 and is held annually on the last Friday and Saturday in June.
Star City Motor Madness draws from throughout the Mid-Atlantic and beyond. Through fees from the participants and donations from sponsors, the event raises money for the Virginia Museum of Transportation which is located in Roanoke as well as other non-profit organizations. For spectators all activities are free!
FRIDAY, JUNE 25TH

CRUISE-IN
(6pm to 10pm)
Classic and special interest automobiles, trucks and motorcycles cruise on Roanoke's historic "strip," Williamson Road.
"Cruise-Central" at Berglund Credit Line: park and show off your vehicle and enjoy food and entertainment.

SATURDAY, JUNE 26TH

CAR & TRUCK SHOW
(10am to 4pm)
Car and truck show will be held in downtown Roanoke. Many city blocks will be set aside for the car show.

As was the case the last 10 years, this year most proceeds will go the Virginia Museum of Transportation Automotive Gallery. The museum is famous for its diverse collection of America's transportation history with an impressive collection of railroad "rolling stock" including the famous Norfolk and Western J611 streamlined steam locomotive. The museum has developed an automotive gallery and funds raised by Star City Motor Madness help with changing exhibits in the gallery.
